However, private label is not simply about placing a logo on a stock flower. Because suppliers may use these terms differently, the quotation and purchase agreement should state exactly who is responsible for the design, tooling, packaging artwork, testing, and quality approval.
Define the Commercial Position Before Selecting Products
A factory catalog should not determine your brand strategy.
Where MOQ gets more complicated is customization. Adding your own packaging, a printed logo, or a private-label design usually pushes the minimum higher than a standard reorder, since the factory is setting up a production run specifically for you. That’s normal, not a red flag — it’s the cost of a dedicated line versus one already running your item.
Before selecting flower types, establish the commercial position of the collection:
- Target country and customer group
- Retail, wholesale, project, or e-commerce sales channel
- Intended retail or wholesale price level
- Main application, such as home décor, weddings, hospitality, or seasonal display
- Launch date and required warehouse arrival date

For a first order, a focused collection is normally easier to control than a large assortment of unrelated styles. A compact range can share colors, packaging components, and display concepts while generating clearer sales data for future reorders.
Choose the Appropriate Customization Level
Private-label artificial flower projects generally fall into three levels.
Level 1: Brand an Existing Product
The buyer selects an existing flower and adds:

Specify Materials and Product Feel Precisely
Artificial flower terminology is not always standardized. Words such as “silk,” “soft-touch,” “real-touch,” and “premium” may describe the appearance or marketing position rather than the complete material composition.

Do not use “real-touch” as the complete product specification. Ask for actual material notes, close-up photographs, and a physical sample. When touch and close-up realism matter, the sample should be compared with an existing approved product or a clear reference standard.
For outdoor, hospitality, or public-space projects, define any required UV-resistance, weather-resistance, or fire-performance standard at the beginning. A general statement that a material is “UV resistant” or “fire retardant” is not enough. The buyer should confirm which product, material, test method, report, and production batch the claim applies to.
Create and Approve a Golden Sample
A golden sample is the approved physical reference used to control mass production.
The sample record should include:
- Product name, SKU, and revision number
- Total product length and width
- Flower-head diameter
- Number and position of petals, leaves, branches, and flower heads
- Material and surface finish
- Approved color reference
- Product weight
- Stem flexibility and wire strength
- Attachment method
- Packaging method
- Barcode, hangtag, and carton-mark details
Take clear photographs and record the measurements before approval. Ideally, the buyer and factory should each retain an approved sample or an identical signed sample.
The packaging must also be approved. A flower can look correct when unpacked but still fail commercially if the carton compresses the petals, bends the stems, scratches coated surfaces, or creates excessive freight volume.
Mass production should be compared with the approved sample rather than judged independently.
Separate Product MOQ from Component MOQ
There is no universal MOQ for private-label artificial flowers.
A supplier may accept a small trial order for an existing product, while the customized components may have separate minimum quantities. MOQ can apply to:

Calculate Landed Cost, Not Only Unit Price
The lowest factory unit price is not automatically the lowest commercial cost.

Artificial flowers are often relatively light but bulky. DHL explains that freight chargeable weight may be based on the higher of actual weight and volumetric weight. Product exclusivity should never be based only on a conversation. Define whether it covers the complete design, a particular color, a packaging format, a territory, or a specified period. Tooling ownership and the right to use buyer-supplied artwork should also be documented.

- Record customer feedback and defect data after launch.
- Use the sales results to plan reorders and the next collection.
The first order should be treated as the beginning of a repeatable product system rather than a one-time shipment.

- Selecting products only from edited photographs
